With gtk3, the dialog adapts its width to make strings fit.
For example, testing with French UI, going to Options > Load / Save > General >
Load (Options > Chargement/enregistrement > Général > Charger).

When using the gen VCL plugin, a string is truncated, the dialog allows
reducing the width enough to hide a part of the string. It does however provide
a tooltip to read it in full.
