I was unable to complete the VMWare Workstation Player 17 install on a
Ubuntu 24.04 LTS host even though there is a Linux installer.
Note that this bug report says that the host is Windows 11.
Similarly, I was able to install VirtualBox on a Ubuntu 24.04 LTS host
but was unable to duplicate

Disable location
My proposal here was only for showing location features in gnome-
control-center.
I guess we'll need to SRU geoclue eventually but I don't think that's
needed now.

Thank you for the feedback. The Ubuntu Desktop team is reverting this
gnome-control-center behavior change and will keep location services
enabled for now (even after 46.1). We'll see how things go later in the
year.

gedit ships an entry for Debian's alternatives system for
/usr/bin/gnome-text-editor and a corresponding manpage.
However, there is now a real app named gnome-text-editor that ships
/usr/bin/gnome-text-editor
Therefore we should remove the entry in Debian's alternative
Jonas vendors dh-cargo for all his Rust apps and crates.
Is it possible to get Ubuntu's custom changes into Debian's dh-cargo?
Then we can ask Jonas to update his vendored copy.
