Situation on Hardy Heron is not much better. After standard installation, one
has to install:
1) eclipse
2) sun-java6 (and friends)
But this lead to a configuration on your system that is polluted with gij and
gic settings.
One has to manually set:
a) alternatives to sun-java6
b) edit eclipse
On Hardy openoffice.org-core has /usr/lib/openoffice/program/javaldx but
it does not return any JRE.
However it is possible to install ure and replace
/usr/lib/openoffice/program/javaldx with a link to

That is a bit simple security design decision IMHO. Sometimes other
people have access to home dirs and backups, like sys admins, and a bit
more encryption that plain text would be desirable. Hopefully the
password would get some encryption.
