"What about package names?", especially that it was changed not so long time ago to org.acegisecurity.*. Touching pakage names again can be a notion of instability for some. And what about non-Spring usage of Acegi? Some non-Spring project (e.g. based on Eclipse RCP - OSS GIS uDIG) think about introducing Acegi, but not necessary Spring. It will make them feel against Acegi, I suppose...
