. *Candidates MUST have 5 years or more of Financial Experience and 8 years + of Data Warehousing Development with 5 years in hands on DW Leadershipt/Management role. We need a Rock Star!!!! * ** * * We are currently seeking a data warehouse engineering *tech lead* with strong management and excellent technical skills to lead the data warehousing replaforming development team. This candidate must be technically strong to lead a data architect/data modeler, ETL and BI developers and QA team. The ideal candidate is passionate about data warehousing, understands end-to-end aspects of data warehousing, thinks strategically and acts tactically by laying out the technology vision and supporting day to day initiatives. *Responsibilities:* * Provide overall technical architecture, design, *development* and test guidance for the team including ODS, *DW* model design, ETL/ELT architecture & design, Data Marts, BI solutions, and *DW* infrastructure * Provide leadership and management for the data warehousing engineering and QA teams. * Deliver various data warehousing initiatives by effectively working with business stakeholders, source system engineering teams, product management and IT staff * Interface with business stakeholders/business analysts to gather *DW*requirements and translate business requirements into data needs * Be hands-on individual contributor to design and develop data models, design and develop ETL/ELT as necessary * Drive evaluation and adoption of scalable *DW* solutions (MPP-based *DW*solutions) as need arises * Establishes and enforces architecture, design and coding standards and ensures compliance with SDLC methodology * Lead meetings at the technical and project level providing continuous updates on project status. * Effectively manage issue tracking/resolution and project scope changes. * Function as an escalation point to ensure impact is communicated and approved. * Identify and resolve or recommend solutions for resource/scheduling conflicts. *Experience/Qualifications:* * Replatforming large datawarehouse on SQL Server 2005/Java to either Netezza/DB2 balanced warehouse is a must * 8 to 12 years in Data warehousing *development* lifecycle and at least 5+ years in hands-on *DW* leadership/management role. Experienced in managing 10+ TB *DW* systems. * Expert in Development of *system conversion test plans* * 5+ years experience within a *financial* services firm is a must * Experience working in a large environment is a must. * Strong knowledge of MS Project and a working knowledge of MS Office application suite. * Ability to translate business needs into data requirements. * Ability to analyze, cleanse, and enhance source system data for population in the ODS, data marts, and the enterprise data warehouse. * Strong data modeling and dimensional modeling skills * Strong ETL design and *development* experience. * Excellent database management system fundamentals. * Advanced knowledge of SQL. Prior experience with MS SQL Server experience is a must. * Experience with MPP-based Data warehouse platform is a plus. Netezza, DB2 balanced warehouse experience is a huge plus * Familiarity with QA processes for data warehousing system and ability to lead QA personnel * Experience with overall *DW* infrastructure capacity planning and scaling * Ability to adapt, learn and build on new technologies. * Proven track record in delivering scalable and reliable *DW* solutions. * Enthusiastic leader with increasing levels of managerial responsibility and proven track record of developing team members * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels and positions throughout the company *Prescreen criteria:* * Replatforming large datawarehouse Server 2005/Java to either Netezza/DB2 balanced warehouse is a must *Experienced in managing 10+ TB *DW* systems.
