Position:  Network / System Administrator

Location: Hartford,  Connecticut

Duration: 24 Months Contract Job (Possibility of extension)

 *Job Description:*



Over the course of the next 3 years, the client will up-grade and overhaul
the district's Point of Sale (POS) cafeteria management system.

In turn, these monies will be used to streamline efficiencies and minimize
the manual labor activities in record keeping that are currently in place
in our cafeterias and central office locations.


Database/Systems Administrators are responsible for managing and
maintaining the hardwired lines and wireless connections in a system and
the hardware that hooks up to that system.

 Applicants are expected to have at least ten years of relevant work
experience, ideally in a school or educational agency, managing school
nutrition data applications, servers, LAN/WANs, and API/SFTP
configurations, and automated processes.

Job duties specific to a Systems Administrator may include:

   - Analyzing and figuring out the system needs of an organization
   - Installing hardware and software for the network
   - Keeping systems operating efficiently by performing any necessary
   upgrades and repairs
   - Planning a strategy to maintain system security on the computers and
   the network as a whole
   - Optimizing and evaluating the system regularly
   - Assigning and updating security permissions for the system network
   - Training or directing users on the correct use of software and
   hardware within the system
   - Performing problem-solving tasks when alerted by a user or monitoring
   system
   - Tracking, installing and configuring software updates and performing
   database backups to restore and protect user information.
