I don’t know where the 64 files limit comes from.

I run this at startup:

launchctl limit maxfiles 65536 65536
launchctl limit maxproc 18000 20480

Actually, mdworker is Apple’s Spotlight indexing.

I’ll tell Spotlight to ignore the sl-cache folder.

But this should not affect the Perl process, which got up to 6.5GB before I 
force-quit it, correct?
