Call for Philosophy SIG Papers ABS Conference, September 3-6,2004 Hyatt Regency Hotel, Calgary, Alberta, Canada
The Philosophy Special Interest group (SIG) of the Association for Baha'i Studies seeks short presentations or full length papers on any topic relating to the philosophical study of the Baha'i Writings. Philosophically oriented papers on the conference theme, "Spirit and Intellect: Advancing Civilization", are also of great interest. All presentations will be made at the Philosophy SIG meeting to be held on Friday, September 3, 2004. Presentations should be no more than 60 minutes. Speakers may wish to include a question period in their time. If possible, try to bring copies of your presentation or a summary of it; audiences greatly appreciate this. Should you require special A-V equipment, please advise us as soon as possible. Up to an hour will also be set aside for further organizational development of the SIG. Some possible topics are a formal membership list, a web site to post papers or summaries and a discussion list. Last year's presenters were William Hatcher on his book "Minimalism: A Bridge between Classical Philosophy and the Baha'i Revelation"; Susan Brill de Ramirez on Wittgenstein and the Writings, and Ian Kluge on Baha'i Existentialism (Heidegger and Marcel). Please send proposals and/or papers to Ian Kluge ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SIG Convenor Best wishes, Ian Kluge __________________________________________________ You are subscribed to Baha'i Studies as: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Baha'i Studies is available through the following: Mail - mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Web - http://list.jccc.edu/read/?forum=bahai-st News - news://list.jccc.edu/bahai-st Public - http://www.escribe.com/religion/bahaist Old Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED] New Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
