Someone recently wrote,

>"It [Mormonism] is, in many ways, the ultimate religion of
American romanticism."<

Would you please explain what this means?

As I understand them, the chief characteristics of romanticism
are  "a heightened interest in nature, emphasis on the individual's
_expression_ of emotion and imagination, departure from the attitudes
and forms of classicism, and rebellion against established social rules
 and conventions."  (from Dictionary.com)

Is this what you meant by romanticism. If so, how does Mormonism
fit this description?

Thanks,
Tim Nolan
