Stations of Men??

Is anyone aware of any Guidance regarding different stations of men.  I do not mean the differences in station between Manifestations, humans, animals etc.  I more interested in any Writing which might suggest that some humans might have a higher station than others.  I am aware that there are some references to some individuals having more capacity than others, but I was given to understand that regardless, all humans were to be recognized as equal.  However, I know of a Baha'i who is convinced that there are Writings which suggest that some are superior to others.  I have been unable to find any examples.  If you are aware of any, please let me know.
