You don't need to upgrade to unstable. Just download http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/b/bash-completion/bash-completion_2.1-4_all.deb and install it with "dpkg -i bash-completion_2.1-4_all.deb", and then open a new bash shell to see if it works.
