Any replies you make here will go into the list archives, where someone might find them if they search for this topic. Maybe even the original bug submitter, though the chances of that seem low, given that they submitted this bug rather than searching for any existing literature or discussions. So, you just need to decide whether the time you'll spend writing a reply here is justified.
