[For Sale] Mellanox 16-port 100GbE switches Hi all,
Sorry for the marketing SPAM -- but I just got offered a bunch of 16 port 100GbE Mellanox switches for ~$6k, new with warranty from an electronics parts supplier we (Berkeley) have used in the past for sourcing obsolete/hard-to-obtain electronics parts. No relation, just a happy customer of ROM chips and GPUs / CPUs. I'm told there are 50 units in stock. If interested, please drop Tim (details below) an email. Switch model is: MSN2100-CB2F - Spectrum(TM) based 100GbE 1U Open Ethernet Switch with MLNX-OS, 16 QSFP28 ports Some due diligence required -- I've not spoken to Mellanox about academic pricing for these switches, and only note that ~$6k is broadly in line with the going rate on supposedly new units on Ebay. They say they are still consuming these but their volume has switched over to 32-ports. This is slowing down their current consumption so they would consider moving them, but won’t take a huge hit on them. The best pricing would be ~$6,000 each.
