I still think this is completely reasonable to do even now. There will be still
at least one rc1 anyway. What are the _objective_ reasons this can't be
incorporated now? There are way bigger patches like CASSANDRA-19534 which seem
to be completely OK to be introduced even now, this patch is magnitude less
complicated.
