Job : JAVA Developer w/ Cognos Exp Location : Maiden Lane, NY Duration : 6+ Months The feedback we received from the hiring manager about the people they have interviewed is that.... "The team leads have felt that the resources that we've interviewed thus far are weak on MS-SQL (assembling queries, stored procedures) and integration with Java code plus Websphere......" The hired candidate in this position focuses on the actual development and support of HR-Applications within the Corporate Compensation area and may be involved in design sessions with the team. Support includes compensation directives including year-end recommendation and employee performance processes. 6+ years experience with enterprise-level relational databases, with very strong database skills (MS SQL Server and Oracle) including demonstrated skills in creating stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, joins, indexes, etc. Exposure to full lifecycle of database and reports development is needed; candidates with strong relational and/or dimensional data modeling skills, Cognos report 8 along with data warehousing experience will be strongly preferred. 3-5 years of Java, including Java server-side experience in a J2EE environment, experience with JDBC and JDK 1.4/1.5 with JSP and Servlets development, Websphere / LDAP / SiteMinder application server integration, preferably in a Human Resource environment. Exposure in implementing DTS and/or ETL Experience in SDLC (specifically Unit Testing and Integration Testing phases) Must possess time management skills in a busy environment. and resolve issues promptly.
