Package: emacs Version: 23.4+1-2 Followup-For: Bug #666714 As additional info, Emacs in text mode in my computer (i.e. `emacs -nw` or plain `emacs` without a DISPLAY environment variable) hangs after showing the "Welcome to GNU Emacs" screen. However, running `emacs` with normal GUI support, then running `server-start` from there lets me open and close `emacsclient` frames normaly, and closing the main Emacs frame afterwards doesn't result in it getting frozen.
So if you have a running X session, keeping a main Emacs frame open and starting the server in there may help as a termporary workaround for running clients. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=ca_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ca_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages emacs depends on: ii emacs23 23.4+1-2 emacs recommends no packages. emacs suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
