install a fresh sid
install gnash-plugin
go to youtube, no video shown, just a black window quickly replaced by a
white window
install browser-plugin-lightspark-plugin
go to youtube, no video shown, just a black window quickly replaced by a
white window
install flashplugin-nonfree
go to youtube, no video shown, just a black window quickly replaced by a
white window
in iceweasel, open Tools/Addons/Plugins, disable gnash (when checking
today, there is no button to enable gnash again.)
go to youtube, now the videos play with flashplayer.

I agree, was only thinking of a message at the install prompt. Maybe just a
note in the wiki?
