I certainly understand that the drupal6 / drupal7 is not Debian's fault However, it would be good to have some suggestions for Debian users who each have to deal with this issue. a) The first thing is long term strategy: will people get better long term support if they use some other package? E.g. should I build my sites on MoinMoin where I can? This is quite an important question, because if the effort to migrate drupal6 -> drupal7 is equal to the effort of going to MoinMoin, some people might go to MoinMoin. Then again, such simple sites probably don't rely on the problematic modules anyway. b) How should people run drupal6 (if they want/need to) - is it better in some sense to stick with squeeze, or it is better to run the unsupported drupal6 package on wheezy, or maybe just a list of issues for people to consider? c) Is there a list of common non-upgradable modules, or even better, a script or something to check a drupal6 system to advise the sysadmin quickly if any of the modules are high/medium/low risk for upgrade? I found this `Update Status' module mentioned in Drupal's upgrade guide: http://drupal.org/project/update_status d) Although this is a low priority item, anyone still on drupal5 actually needs the drupal6 package as a stepping stone to drupal7 http://drupal.org/node/548922 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
