Unfortunately, the problem is still there : here is what I did :

1) reset options : since the new unstable release is supposed to fix the problem, no need to keep them :
lpadmin -p Stylus_Photo_750 -R usb-unidir-default
lpadmin -p Stylus_Photo_750 -R usb-no-reattach-default

2) apt-get install cups/unstable => cups is upgraded to 1.5.3-2.15 with its dependencies and restarted

3) switch off and on the printer

4) try to print => first job (one page) OK, second job (one page) fails the same way it used to with previous cups release and no special lpadmin option
