Sorry Dominic, I just fixed the errors listed and didn't actually test
with the new Perl version.
I've just uploaded another change for 9.8j-3 which hopefully should do it.
I tested this change with pod2{man,text,html} from your experimental
package (not installed, but run from the build directory) so hopefully
this one should nail it.
