I'm glad to hear switching to mdb fixed your problems. Since the bug with the other backend was not actually fixed but still affects wheezy (and possibly later releases too), probably this report should be kept open to track it. Unfortunately we still don't know how to reproduce it, or even whether it's a BDB bug or an openldap bug, so any progress looks unlikely. > Can you please do an official backport of slapd 2.4.39 to wheezy?
