Hi there, I was quite surprised to find out that in a default minimal installation (i.e. without any DE and Recommends:) Pidgin relies on OSS as the default audio subsystem. AFAIK Debian choose to primarily rely on ALSA, which means that gstreamer0.10-alsa should *at least* be in the Suggests: list. Similarly, I was not able to have any video call without gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg, which also means that the latter should *at least* be in the Suggests: list as well.
