Given the author’s comment that v3 is still under development, I am going to add the Go 1.6 template support as a Debian patch while retaining the package name golang-gopkg-alecthomas-kingpin.v2. https://github.com/alecthomas/kingpin/pull/114/commits/c890f0fbd7826ef1155090f2dbffbce846823cb9 This means that dependent packages using customised help templates will need to be patched, which at the moment affects acmetool only.
