Installing gaim on a Via technologies mini-ITX VT8626 (Apollo CLE266
with Castlerock graphics) running with ice window manager
- apt-get install gaim
- Entered passwords and then nothing
- Tried to enter gaim from the window manager I received "Normal
Authentication failed"...will now attempt to login using
webmessanger authentication
- Entering "gaim" from a console gave me the following message "Gaim
has segfaulted and attempted to dump a core file"
I do not know how to copy a backtrace from the console so this is my typing of

I have since tried to reinstall gaim and each time it is has failed.
I have reported this bug on sourceforge but in discussing this with some
others in a LUG, I was advised to use reportbug.
Possible problems from my side:
- I think I have the wrong graphics card driver for this system, when
things are slightly less manic I will try and update the drivers
- I suspect that I have the wrong Language and lc-type on my X-windows
set up but they work....
Otherwise no idea. I love the program and use it whereever possible.
