Unfortuantely I'm not aware of any changes. I just saw a message from Marcus Better from January that the problem is in 4.19, so I assume it's still there.
Can one of you please try the latest kernel in stretch-backports (or even 5.0.2 in experimental). If the problem is there, please show the error message.
