Ok. Before we start, a user said "Following this up, the split of the libraries is breaking some common use cases in the robotics community" at https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1006920 But I did not figure out what bad could happen from the links provided. I'm requesting more information there. Once confirmed I'll merge doko's patches and go through NEW again.
