All semantics are the same, and the optimised code passes all tests from upstream. This package is a required build-dep of Prometheus. Whilst patching Prometheus to use the original Go standard library regexp package is fairly trivial, the grafana/regexp package is used extensively throughout Prometheus, and likely has performance advantages. I will co-maintain this package as a member of the Debian Go Packaging Team.
