I and at least one other person offered to take over the project; unfortunately, since the GitHub project has been archived and hence the issue trackers cannot now be updated, it’s hard for those of us interested in continuing the project to coordinate. I have therefore unilaterally announced my intention to maintain the project at least for the immediate future. My announcement is here: https://github.com/rrthomas/ddclient/issues/1 I am filing an issue in the BTS about this to let the Debian maintainer and users know. I am a long-time user of ddclient in Debian/Ubuntu; I’m a DM; and I’m upstream for many Debian packages (in particular, many mature packages whose previous maintainers handed them over to me). Therefore, Debian may be interested in using my fork as upstream. There don’t seem to be many outstanding bugs in the BTS for this package, and no serious ones. I don’t propose to make major changes to the package, though I do plan to remove some code (see my announcement).
