Agreed! Are you interested in forwarding this bug upstream to https://jblevins.org/projects/markdown-mode, or would you prefer to wait for someone else to do so? The reason this is important is because Emacs29 compatibility affects more than just Debian users, so the fix shouldn't be limited to just us. Regards, Nicholas
