Hi Gianfranco, Sandro has "orphaned" this package (in other words, left it to the Debian Python Team), so it is very unlikely that he will follow up his ITP (#1015231). If you'd like to pick this up yourself, you would be most welcome (and if so, and if you're not already in the Debian Python Team, my suggestion is that you join it for this package and for the ITP dependency).
