Dear Maintainer, I'm unable to bootstrap any recent ubuntu LTS release such as ubuntu/jammy or ubuntu/noble while using cdebootstrap. It hangs while extracting init-system-helpers ubuntu package. I didn't test non-LTS release. This bug was originally reported in Ubuntu bug tracker, but while testing in Debian I also found that the Debian version is also affected. The original ubuntu bug url: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cdebootstrap/+bug/1969277 While running with --verbose --debug it appears cdebootstrap is hanging decompressing init-system-helpers_1.66ubuntu1_all.deb when bootstrapping ubuntu/noble, while debian unstable bootstraps w/o problem, trimmed down log is shown below.
