f-spot is extremely slow. I have some 42000 photos imported, from 1998 to today, and just moving from one photo to the next by clicking or by the keyboard, takes 1-2 seconds. Adding a tag to a group of photos take 1-2 seconds per photo, which isn't fun if you're tagging a thousand. The application is rendered useless by this slowness. I've used f-spot before with several thousands photos, without any such problems. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the whole mono framework, but to no avail. I have tried both the testing and the unstable framework. This is a fairly fast laptop, with a core duo cpu and 2Gb of memory. Doing the same operations directly in sqlite3 finishes in an instant.
