Package: avahi-daemon Severity: wishlist I use logcheck to look through syslog data for important entries. It does this by telling me about all entries that it doesn't recognize as unimportant.
Currently, avahi-daemon provides no /etc/logcheck/*.d.ignore/avahi-daemon files, so logcheck thinks that *all* avahi-daemon log entries are important. It generates an awful lot of them, and probably most of them don't require an admin to take action. I'd write these files myself and include them in this BTS, but I'm not sufficiently familiar with avahi-daemon to know what is ignorable. As a workaround I will probably just purge avahi-daemon from workstations on my network. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_AU.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
