Package: ftp.debian.org Severity: normal Tomcat 5.5 is in maintenance mode upstream and is superseded by Tomcat 6, which is already in Debian.
There is not enough manpower to maintain both versions, and tomcat5.5 is therefore accumulating bug reports. There is no reason for users to stay with Tomcat 5.5, as far as I know. tomcat5.5 still has reverse dependencies (bugs have been filed for these).
