Hello Eckhart, first: I'm not the maintainer of Kbibtex so the following is just for the record.
There is a KDE4 port of Kbibtex available at [0] but – according to upstream –
still in a alpha state ("If you have to rely on a stable and proven product,
please use the KDE3 version for your daily work."). But it should be ready in
time for the next release.
