same problem here on a Fedora FC15 install with all updates
nvidia-settings # rpm -qf /usr/bin/nvidia-settings nvidia-settings-1.0-11.fc15.x86_64 nvidia-driver packages xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-280.13-1.fc15.x86_64 xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs-280.13-1.fc15.x86_64 nvidia-settings freezes after switching to TwinView at 100%CPU. A kill -TERM <pid> or killall nvidia-settings terminates the program. Attempting to restart nvidia-settings results in a hanging process with no visible window. nvidia-settings from ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/195.36.31/NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-195.36.31-pkg0.run works as expected and the TwinView configuration can be completed. I have used the same setup for the past couple of years starting with FC13 and this is a new problem.
