Just a short note: I'm not really able to check on this bug anymore, as the i386 machine I saw this on, was decommissioned. On my amd64 machine(s) I haven't been able to reproduce this bug.
In case you want to close this bug, I'd be ok with that. If somebody else is seeing that, they can always reopen the bug.
