I have just looked quickly, this mechanism looks nice. However, I don't known how will works fortune with both fortunes-fr and fortunes-de installed but I admit, I just looked quickly. I will look more precisely and implement that this weekend. I have seen your messages in the BTS. I also think the localisation has to be supported natively by fortune, but I think if nobody provides a patch, it will never changes. I doesn't have enough time now, but maybe in the future...
