Well, I'm surprised nobody suggested that the error message might be in tty1. Anyway, I managed to see that the error screen I got had tty1 written somewhere on it. So Ctrl+Alt+F1. Here's what it said (my computer name is "home-ubuntu" and this message may not be exact since I copied it on a piece of paper)
