Public bug reported:

No GUI-based management function to add users to a new group in Ubuntu
12.04 LTS :=(

Please could you a GUI-based management function to add users to a new
group in the Ubuntu (gnome-control-center)?

As for new users it is too difficult a user eg add to the group
Bumblebee.

Because if you have installed bumblebee man must be in the group to
perform optirun!

Linux Mint and it has also Kubuntu (KDE), Xubuntu (XFCE) Lubuntu (LXDE)
Ubuntu Gnome.

It is not so great because Ubuntu is supposed to be for beginners!!

** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
