Although the upstream bug was closed and Launchpad interpreted that closure as "Fix Released", it was closed as "Feature: Out of Scope" meaning it will not be implemented. Therefore, this feature request will be closed as "Won't Fix" as it is the equivalent closure method here.
Marco, it's a great suggestion and, from an Audio/Video technician/engineer perspective, something I'd really want. However, those who control the project disagree and wish to keep things extremely simple for the benefit of the general public, it seems, and that's ok.
