a new bug against a currently supported version of this package if you

Title:
  Wacom Bamboo Pen not working (Freezes Ubuntu )17.04

Status in xf86-input-wacom package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  After upgrading from 16.10 to 17.04 , Wacom Bamboo Pen is not responding if 
it's already plugged in before opening Gimp, Krita or Raw Therapee. If it's 
connected after opening one of these programs it freezes all system.
  Inkscape seems to be the only one working so far.
