This is only in the "core" subdirectory, right? If so, I'm not building the 1.3.x nightlies any more ... they're coming from someone's execution of the Maven builds. FWIW, following these steps does indeed make "ant dist" work for me. But, it'd be better for someone with a more current Maven installation to do the version that is actually checked in, so it's based on the most recent Maven plugins.
