Orrin,

The calling frequency is 50.260, but it's best to 
set-up a sked with someone on the Ping Jockey 
page; http://www.pingjockey.net/cgi-bin/pingtalk 
the majority of QSO's are made this way.

Once logged onto PJ, click USER DETAILS and enter 
your info. Setting up a sked is as easy as asking 
someone to run with you. Let the person know what 
mode and frequency you'd like to try and if you 
will be transmiting first or second sequence (see 
TX FIST box in WSJT).

The maximum distance for meteor scatter is about 
1300 miles. Enter the grid square of the station 
you'd like to work in WJST's grid-box to find the 
distance. You can work stations via meteor scatter 
that are close-in; about 250 miles.

A small Yagi and 100 watts will do on 6 meters...
