Last year I placed a "donate" via Paypal icon on the K3UK Sked Pages for the month of May. This was because my annual bill from the Internet Service Provider is due in June. Many people contributed towards the annual costs, and I hope some of you will consider doing so this year. Use of the pages will always be free, but if you want to make a small donation please click on the Paypal donate icon when I place it there in the next day or so.
The K3UK Sked Pages take advantage of my ISP's mySQL datbase options and ability to place PHP scripts on their server. The bandwidth for the site is "unlimited" which facilitates the occasions where we have 50-70 hams simultaneously connected, each refreshing a web page every 60 seconds . The "unlimited " bandwidth option requires a higher fee than normal ISP service. The daily average is 100,000 hits per day, 79,932 files per day, and 1040 visits per day. In the past 12 months 3,591,766,286 KBytes of information has been transferred ! My annual bill is around $300. Not a large fee, if users of the service consider a small donation, I should be able to recoup my expenses. Last year the bulk of the donations came from users of the SKCC pages, some Logger32 users also donated since I host Logger32's download service . I have informed Logger32 that I will not be providing space for their software effective 6/09 since I wanted to dedicate the storage space to sked page databases. There are now many new users via the LOTW sked page, hopefully some of those new users will consider a donation. Thanks Andy K3UK Thank you for you consideration
