Hi,

In case you haven't figured it out yet, I think the setting you are looking 
for is this one:
https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/blob/main/dspace/config/spring/api/discovery.xml#L2421

You likely need to comment out the "dc.contributor.author" field from that 
"author" index and *reindex* your content (./dspace index-discovery -b).  
 That should ensure that only dc.creator is shown in the Author fields in 
search/browse.
