The user that was in Domain 2 (small NT 4.0 domain), is unable to connect to her mailbox in Domain 1 (mixed mode upgraded to Native). She receives the following error. "Unable to display the folder. The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed". If I try adding her mailbox to mine as an Exchange Admin, then expanding it, I get the following error. "Unable to expand the folder. The set of folders could not be opened. The information store could not be opened". Now, if I try to send that user e-mail when I'm logged into Domain 1, I get this message. "Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. The following recipients could not be reached. Blah blah. The message reached the recipient's e-mail system, but the delivery was refused. Attempt to resend the message. If it still fails, contact your System Administrator". The way the users in Domain 2 currently access Exchange 2003 in Domain 1 is via a trusts, and a disabled account in Domain 1. So, Bettysmith logs into Domain 2. That account is associated with a disabled account in Domain 1, which has permissions to Bettysmith's mailbox in Domain 1. After we switched Domain 1 to Native Mode, we got the errors mentioned above when trying to access Betty Smith's mailbox. However, if I go to another user in Domain 2, and give them permissions to THEIR disabled account in Domain 1, e-mail works fine. My concern is that the only user I associated with her account from Domain 2 to Domain 1 failed. I tested e-mail for her right before the upgrade, it worked fine. After the upgrade, failure. So, I'm not sure if this is a small problem that is only effecting her account, or if it's something that will effect all 100 users in the NT 4.0 only (Domain 2). I also went to BettySmiths Active Directory account and added SELF, then checked these two boxes.... Full mailbox access Associated External Account That didn't resolve the issue. We still can't access her mailbox from anywhere. I hope I've explained it well enough that somebody else may have a clue, because I don't. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. However, we would like to switch over to native mode. We just finished a test in the lab, but ran into a little snag. We have two Domains. Domain 1 is a mixed mode domain, running NT 4.0 and Active Directory. It is the only Domain with an Exchange Server. Domain 2 is a small NT 4.0 Domain only, and uses a Trusts to access the Exchange Server on Domain 1. When we upgraded the lab to Native Mode (Domain 1 only), users in Domain 2 were no longer able to access/send/receive any email. Do both Domains need to be in Native Mode before Exchange 2003 will work across the trusts? If not, I'll start troubleshooting other possible solutions. Thanks. I have an Active Directory domain with 300 AD users. I will add an Exchange2003 server into the AD domain and create a mailbox for each of the AD users. I plan to use the "exchange migration wizard" to migrate the IMAP data into the Exchange2003 mailboxes, respectively. Goal is to migrate from IMAP to Exchange2003 to allow the users to use exchange2003 instead of the IMAP server. Please do you have any comments on the process above? Please do you know of any other tool that can accomplish the same goal.
