Well, strictly speaking you don't NEED to use VAC. You can still use
actual cables to connect the rig to a computer soundcard.
Just like we HAD to do in the old days of previous generation radios,
with all the RFI issues, etc.
With FLEX we have the option to keep it all in the digital domain.
VAC is a neat product, and well worth the low cost.
