For the FLEX-1500 the default IF is 3800 Hz so that it doesn't skew the
narrower bandwidth spectrum display.

well it wasn't- it was set fro 3800 Hz. (how it got changed I have no clue)
Once I put 3800 in to WSPR frq it worked.
