The version of Festival I tried sounded very mechanical, it could get very
old, very annoying, very fast. There are commercial products at a reasonable
price ( < $100US) that are quite good.

Definitely! Moving it from a concept to actuality is a lot of work. But we
all have loads of free time...  ;-))
